I followed those instructions, but the files listed in the error are not showing up in the registry. I've attached screenshots of the two error messages to give you a better idea of what is going wrong. Try this article.. Search for "Services" in your windows start menu and open the Services window. There you have to search for an " FlexNet Licensing Service ".
If this service is disabled you may have found the solution to the problem. Then you should be able to start the service if it doesn't do it by itself. Select it and follow the guided steps to remove it. If there are several entries related to the software, the utility needs to be launched at every attempt. Guess what? The installer went through without a hitch. I reboot the machine and a dialog appeared on startup stating it was trying to install Inventor R4. But it hung again. At this point I don't believe it and cleaned uninstall Inventor again. Ran the main setup again thinking I had resolved this issue by adding A to be installed.
Well A shows its already installed so I have to use Microsoft Fixit to remove it. Run the main installer again, nope it hangs again and now Inventor will not even uninstall. Even Microsoft Fixit is taking a long time to resolve it. One thing that I do want to point out, if you just go to that location where that batch file is, and run it..
Windows issues that same message. At this point, waiting for Microsoft Fixit to finish and will revisit this in the morning.. At this point I finally reached success and it appears Inventor R4. Hopefully no one will ever face this but if you do here's how to address it. When you get the message about the batch file. Bring up task manager and locate the service with the same name. End task it. Installation continues onto the next step. Repeat this until no more missing batch files messages appear.
Complete the installation. Although you will get a failed Inventor message at the end, don't panic, Inventor is actually installed. Now if you actually need the guided tutorial or connect design capability it may not work in the end. If you are entitled to it apply Inventor R4 update. At some point it will fail and issue the missing batch message again.. Now in Windows 10 task manager under the process tab I saw the Inventor R4 there.
I right mouse clicked on it and select go to details. At that point I saw 3 separate Inventor R process running and the one I was working with was highlighted. I end task the other 2 Inventor R4 and the actual update continued on.
